Junior Associate Application Process
Application Timing
Spring and summer graduates can start to apply in late spring of their final school year. Winter graduates can apply a month prior to graduation. It is best for candidates to apply as close to the time they are prepared to start working full time, as interviews are conducted for current openings and offers are extended on an immediate fill basis.
Online Application
The process starts with your online application (we will no longer accept paper resumes). Go to the Careers tab on our website, www.mediavestww.com, and click "apply now" to apply to the Jr. Associate position. When you apply online, please enter "Campus Recruiting" in the referral section of your online application.
You will need to create a profile and establish a password, which we welcome you to use to keep your profile up-to-date. Once your online profile is created, you will be able to apply to the Jr. Associate job posting. Be sure to complete the online assessment. We will be unable to review your application until these questions are answered. Note that you must have a cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.75 on a 4.00 scale to be considered for the position.
The Interview
After you apply to the Jr. Associate position, your online profile, resume and assessment will be reviewed by a Starcom MediaVest Group representative. If your skills and experience meet the minimum job criteria, if you are available to begin working full time immediately, and if there is a current business need, you will be invited via email or phone for a phone or office interview.
What to expect:
• The interview will last approximately 20-30 minute per interviewer. • The interview will focus on Core Behaviors that we have found to be important in our most successful team members. You may find that many of the interview questions are focused on obtaining specific examples of how you've displayed certain behaviors in the past. For example, you may be asked: "Tell me about a time you. . . What was your role? How did you resolve problems? What was the ultimate outcome?"
• In some cases, you may be asked to elaborate on specific achievements, projects and accomplishments. Since the interview questions can be in-depth, it's not a bad idea to jot down some thoughts before the interview so that you're prepared to share a lot of specific examples.
• In addition to the Core Behaviors, you may also be asked to answer questions about your education and technical skills related to the position.
• You will also have a chance to ask questions during your interview.
The Offer
We stagger our employees' offers and start dates throughout the year based on business needs. We never "over-hire." Candidates who have successful office interviews may only wait several weeks (sometimes days) until receiving an offer. A Human Resources representative will stay in communication with you after your office interview, if you are one of these candidates.
