Qualifications:
This position is for a Daybreak reporter/backpack journalist. This position will require live reporting in our morning newscast as well as covering news stories. We're looking for a pioneer in the next generation of newsgathering. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to report live news stories, especially in "Breaking News" situations. Successful candidates will also have the ability to deliver compelling packages on deadline and the time management skills to produce news stories for Channel 6 and WOWT.com. Candidates should have at least two year's experience as a reporter or photojournalist for a broadcast news station. You'll use the latest technology, including lightweight next generation photography
Duties of this job include live reporting, creative shooting, writing, editing and posting of news stories, both hard news and features. Other duties include SNG camera and edit duties. Must have good writing skills and must be able to work well under strict deadline pressure.
The successful applicant's background must include, at minimum, a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field.
The successful applicant must be a self-starter. Knowledge of and ability to operate state-of-the-art television news equipment as well as website publishing is necessary.
