Wick Communications is a family-owned community news company with 32 newspapers and 23 specialty publications in 13 states.
The company was founded by Milton I. Wick with his brother Jim. He and his brother organized a book business in Lincoln and employed college students to sell books to farmers during the summer months.
Wick received a B.A. degree from UNL in 1922. He turned to the publishing business in 1926 and over a period of years acquired some 27 newspapers.
Wick had been a director of the University of Nebraska Alumni Association since 1965.
