The Texas Wheat Producers Board and Association are seeking a Director of Communications. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
·Designing and publishing monthly and quarterly newsletters
·Developing materials to enhance current relationships with grain elevators
·Building strong relationships with various members of the media and issuing timely press releases
·Maintaining current Web site
·Maintaining membership programs; recruiting new Association members
·Working with other commodity groups and organizations on events and campaigns
·Providing assistance with Association?s legislative efforts in Austin, Texas, and Washington, D.C.
The Director of Communications will also represent the organization at agricultural field days, producer meetings, farm shows, national meetings and school education programs throughout the year.
Job Objective
The objective of this position is to disseminate information about the Board and Association?s activities and enhance communication with wheat producers, agricultural industry members, grain elevators, the Farm Service Agency, Texas Cooperative Extension and the Texas Department of Agriculture.

Qualifications
·Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Communications or related field preferred but not required
·Strong verbal and written communication skills
·Experience in design, copy and editing
·Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs ? Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint
·Experience with Adobe Creative Suite ? InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator
·Experience in public speaking
·Demonstrated leadership
·Ability to travel and work outside regularly maintained office hours
