KOLN-TV Producer

KOLN/KGIN-TV is currently seeking applicants for a full-time News Producer position, in our Lincoln Newsroom.

Duties include:
Our News Producer is responsible for making ethical, professional and logical decisions about the presentational style & structure of the day’s newscasts and coordinating those decisions with other staff to create compelling, complete and relevant newscasts that best serve our audience. The producer supports other staff, primarily the assignments desk, field crews and production staff to secure elements required for newscasts that meet professional standards and high viewer expectations. Producers must have positive character and communication skills as well as ability, and be able to work individually to plan and execute news coverage from story inception to completion.

Qualifications include:
Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent job experience, including TV news producing, editing and visual storytelling. Must have strong computer, editing and video skills, including typing and editing/computer operations. Qualified applicant will have sound journalistic judgment and working knowledge of all aspects of newsroom practices and related equipment. Must be motivated, creative, and a self-starter. Effective communication and organizational skills are essential. Maintain a permanent residence within 30 minutes of station

The work schedule may vary due to temporary or permanent schedule changes. Work assignments may include evening, weekend, and out-of-town overnight stays.
