KOLN-TV Producer/Reporter
KOLN/KGIN-TV is currently seeking applicants for the above position in our Lincoln newsroom.
We want people who are called to journalism, able to report, write, shoot, edit, anchor, produce, plan, web post, and generate stories by winning every fact, every story, every newscast, every day. This position would be assigned about equally to newscast producing and news reporting duties.
Duties include:
Gather facts and story-support content, including text, audio and visuals, for news stories as well as produce compelling, coherent TV newscasts from assorted news elements, report/write/edit news stories for television and web channel delivery accurately and on deadline and perform news gathering and presentation tasks professionally with respect for audience and colleagues. Also, set up stories and produce them from inception to completion whether alone or cooperatively, review news scripts to ensure accuracy, fairness, timeliness, objectivity, conciseness, clarity and adherence to professional practices and station ethics and other duties as assigned with shift assignments subject to change.
Qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field, professional TV journalism experience including TV news shooting and editing/visual storytelling, and strong computer, copy editing and video skills, including typing and computer editing. Maintain a permanent residence within 30 minutes of station. Successfully complete pre-employment driving record check, with valid driver’s license and insurance.
