KOLN-TV Online News Coordinator
KOLN/KGIN-TV is currently seeking applicants for a Online News Coordinator, in our Lincoln Newsroom.
This position holds the responsibility of being the news director’s primary support staff for the station’s webchannels and other news-media outlets for news distribution and includes administrative, journalistic and management duties to coordinate news content postings for the market’s #1 TV station.
Duties include:
Knowledge of news and ability to cover it ethically and professionally, ability to use the intellectual tools and physical equipment needed to gather and disseminate news, including internet, cameras, microphones, editing apparatus and computers. Must be able to get facts, get them right, and get them to audience first, including on-air and online. Various other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications include:
Ideal candidate will have degree in journalism, related field or equivalent job experience. Professional journalism experience, including editing/visual storytelling and reporting, writing, producing and story assignments. Understanding of basic newsroom operations and knowledge of journalism ethics and adherence to media laws. Good written and oral communication skills. Maintain a permanent residence within 30-minutes travel time from the station. A valid driver's license is required and a clean driving record.
Hours:
Work schedule may vary due to temporary or permanent schedule changes. Work assignments may include weekend, evening and out of town overnight assignments. Reasonable and regular attendance is required.
