KOLN Assignment Editor (full time)
KOLN/KGIN-TV is currently seeking applicants for the above full-time position. If you have a passion for news coverage and a desire to lead journalists in aggressive and ethical news coverage, we have a job for you to consider. We want someone who has worked as a journalist and now wants to lead a newsroom in first-rate story coverage
Responsibilities Include:
Enterprising story ideas and assigning stories to news crews. Creating and maintaining a network of news sources necessary for making sure we get the story first and right. Making sure reporters are accountable for enterprising solid stories, and responsible for completing their assignments on deadline.
Qualifications Include:
Degree in journalism related field or equivalent job experience; excellent people and phone skills; ability to operate newsroom computers and type at above-average speed; maintain a permanent residence in Lancaster County; valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Hours: Work schedules vary due to the need to operate the News Department efficiently. Work assignments may include weekend, evening work and overnight assignments. Reasonable and regular attendance is required.
