ATTEND ADVERTISING CAREER CONFERENCE IN NOVEMBER!
Are you interested in careers in New York City? Want to get tips on finding jobs in the Advertising industry outside of Nebraska? Intrigued by the idea of seeing where "Mad Men" was born?
Come with us to the Big Apple for the 2009 Advertising Women of New York (AWNY) Career Conference in New York City November 13th and 14th. Men AND women are eligible to attend, and many UNL students have gone over the last four years.
AWNY is a great opportunity to meet advertising professionals from all over the East coast and a way for you to make your name known, especially if you are looking for internship and job opportunities.
Friday, November 13th, we will tour a New York ad agency in the afternoon, then attend the opening conference reception early evening. (In the past, we have also done an agency visit on our own in the morning). The rest of Friday evening is free time.
Saturday is a full day of workshops, round tables and a luncheon. Workshops include topics such as portfolio and resume review, how to find the right internship, fashion advertising ... the list goes on.
Saturday evening is free time in the city, so consider a Broadway play, dinner out on the town, holiday shopping. . .
UNL students have attended AWNY in the past and found it to be a great networking and learning experience. This year we would like to gather anyone interested to attend the conference and represent UNL for a weekend in the city. Currently, plane tickets for the weekend of the conference range from around $300 to $350. Hotel rates are high in the city so if enough individuals are interested, we will look into sharing rooms to minimize expenses.
