TIME-WARNER CABLE - NEBRASKA DIVISION Community Access Intern
Hours: Monday - Friday / 8AM-5PM
Reports To: Director of Public Affairs and Community Programming
PURPOSE STATEMENT:
The community access intern will have a unique opportunity to work first-hand with the company's public affairs and community programming departments. The intern will be a vital part to the department's new, state-of-the-art production facility and have input in the development of several new programs.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
This position reports to the Community Access Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in the development of a day-long workshop/training for high school students interested in videography.
- Coordinate the coverage of the Cornhusker State Games.
- Coordinate the planning and scheduling high school football coverage for this fall.
- Coordinate and help plan a Husker Fan contest for Nebraska on Demand.
- Update mailing lists and databases.
- Assist with administrative duties for the department.
- Prompt and regular attendance.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
HUMAN RELATIONS:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be graduating from high school, attending college (undergraduates only) or applying to such institutions in order to be eligible. Candidates must be at least 16 years old. Any student older than 24 may require written justification. An interest in public relations, broadcasting, communications, or journalism preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Good organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects. Professional demeanor with excellent writing/speaking skills. Desire and enthusiasm to learn in a fast-paced setting. Video production experience helpful.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Necessary: Microsoft Word; Publisher; Excel. Desired: Final Cut Pro, Photoshop.
