University of Nebraska Technology Park Communications Internship


The University of Nebraska Technology Park, a subsidiary of the University of Nebraska Foundation, seeks an undergraduate or graduate student studying news-editorial, advertising, communications or public relations for its communications internship.
 
The Technology Park is situated along 1-80, just minutes from downtown Lincoln. The park is currently headquarters for 18 technology-based companies, employing over 1,300 full and part time people.
 
The successful candidate will assist the Technology Park staff by writing news releases, producing a quarterly print and electronic newsletter and updating the Web site. The position will also include other communications, clerical and front desk projects as assigned.
 
The paid internship will begin in the spring semester January 2010. Fifteen to 20 hours per week are available during the school year, and additional hours are available during the summer. This internship offers a flexible schedule, professional experience and great writing and design opportunities to build your portfolio.
 
Completion of news writing and editing courses and familiarity with Associated Press style is preferred. Experience with Adobe Creative Suites, basic HTML knowledge and Web site editing skills are desirable. Students interested in business communications, public relations or organization news writing are especially encouraged to apply.
