Bio:

Deciding to pursue a career in advertising, Phil Willet attended the Ringling School of Art. After graduation he moved to New York, working for 15 years at major ad agencies including Wells Rich Greene, Ted Bates, and Campbell Mithun Esty. Willet created print and broadcast advertisements for national and regional accounts including Avis Rental Cars, M&M Candies, Chase Manhattan Bank, Converse Athletic Shoes, Carnival Cruise Lines, Toshiba Electronics, Martex Linens, State of Florida Tourism, and Travelers Insurance Company. He was employed as an art director then as a creative director.

Willet was named the American Advertising Federation’s ninth district “2011 Educator of the Year." In the four years he has advised the UNL National Student Advertising Competition team they have advanced to Nationals where they have placed two of the last three years including a 2012 first place finish. All together, the NSAC teams have advanced to Nationals in five of the seven years he has advised the teams.

Willet returned to college to complete his Master of Advertising degree at the University of Florida in May 2005. He has taught at both the University of Florida and the University of Miami.
