Kathryn Christensen

Kathryn Christensen joined the faculty of College of Journalism and Mass Communications in 2007 and teaches writing and reporting classes as well as a graduate-level class in ethics and issues. She is a graduate of University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Prior to joining CoJMC, she spent most of her professional career with The Wall Street Journal and ABC News. At the Journal, her positions included vice president of television, international vice president based in Hong Kong, senior editor and London bureau chief. She served on the board of CNBC Asia and CNBC Europe when they were jointly owned by Dow Jones & Company and NBC.

At ABC News, she held posts as managing editor, executive producer and senior producer/foreign for "World News Tonight with Peter Jennings" as well as executive producer of "Weekend News." At ABC, she was part of teams that won two national Emmy awards. She is also a former managing editor of The Baltimore Sun and has been a reporter for The Charlotte News, The Chicago Sun Times, The Chicago Daily News and The Des Moines Register.
